April 23, 2020: Update

A Message to our 4Pillar Families,

I hope you’re all doing well and enjoying some special family time together in light of the strange times we are all still facing!

As we take things each day at a time, plans for re-opening the centre have changed. I was hoping to re-open for May 1 – however, as none of the pandemic conditions have lifted, it looks like we may be remaining closed until at least May 15. That being said, I’m hoping to take a tally of how many families we have that would utilize the care if we do open by May 15.

If a large majority of our families are still wishing to keep their children home and attendance is low, it is also possible that we may open on a revised, limited weekly schedule. This would also help us determine staffing, as some of them also have their own children to care for, too.

We are asking that the families we currently care for, and are requiring care, please text or call me directly: 604-414-5757.

It is a complicated thing, balancing the needs and safety of everyone involved, but I am wanting to do what I can to help the families who rely on 4Pillar. I miss you and your littles so much! And I – and the staff – cannot wait to resume teaching and caring for them all!

In the meantime, I’m hoping to start a Busy Bags program for your children: a weekly bag full of fun activities that you can drive-by and pick up and take home. These bags would be yours to keep. Curated by us at 4Pillar, with love. I’ll let anyone interested know when they are available for pick-up.

Please everyone, take care. If I can help you in any way, please let me know.

Roxanne.

4Pillar CLOSED March 17-20

Dear 4Pillar Families,

It is so important to us that we are there for you, even in these distressing times. As hard as we have tried to remain open, we regret to say that we must close for the remainder of this week.

Our staff are so important to us, and many have been struggling with the colds and flus already here. Because of this, we are giving them the time needed to heal and rest, so that we can serve your families in the best way possible.

Please note, we will reassess our options at the end of the week, and let all of our families know if we will be able to open next week. This currently remains at the discretion of all daycares, and we will let you know as soon as we hear otherwise.

Thank you for your continued understanding and continued support. Take Care!

Spring Break & COVID-19 Update

The world is a bit of a scary place right now – but rest assured that, for the moment, 4Pillar Early Learning Centre is here to help with your childcare needs over spring break.

We follow the guidelines and recommendations set forth by the BC Health Authority. As of yet, daycares have not been asked to shut their doors. Until then, we are focussed on one thing: the health and wellbeing of the children in our care, and our family of workers who make our daily operations possible.

We ask only one thing of parents in this difficult time: please DO NOT bring your children into care if they are showing ANY signs of illness. This could be a cough, runny nose, sore throat, hot & itchy ears, upset stomach, to any of the more sever signs, like throwing up, fever and chills. We know how difficult it is to arrange to stay home with your kids when they’re ill, but containing the spread of any and all illnesses at this time is crucial. If your child does come in with any symptoms, we will ask you take them home or pick them up immediately.

We would like to thank all 4Pillar families for their support and understanding. We will keep you all informed of any developments or changes in our scheduled programming. Please stay safe & healthy.
